Your shikshann guide
“There is no such thing as a stupid question. Whether you are curious about something new or trying to recap something old, questions lead to answers and answers lead to learning.”
–Amrita Prabhu
Education, for me, is that which ensures understanding of the existing world around us and opens our minds to new possibilities. It is that which satisfies our curiosities and enables us to profoundly think about what we could contribute to the world. Education does not end with the completion of a course or the achievement of a qualification. It is for life. We are constantly educating ourselves and growing as people. I believe as educators we must create this spark among newer generations where they crave the need to be educated and not just be qualified.
Hi there! I’m Amrita.
I believe that we Indians have a unique affinity towards languages due to the vast diversity of
the nation. Even without trying too hard, most of us comfortably speak 3 to 4 languages. It was
this affinity for languages and a little encouragement from a friend that got me started on a
path to learning French. It all started with the sheer love for languages. Three years later,
with hours of dedicated learning, I was able to complete my C1 Level in French.
Today, apart from being a language enthusiast and a full time French language instructor and translator,
I am also a food major, an experimental baker, and a calligrapher. I have taught hundreds of students
in my journey as a teacher. I have constructed French language curriculum from scratch and created
several course content materials.
Before starting out on my own, I was able to gather a lot of experience while being employed:
-As an Assistant Professor of French at M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore
-As a teacher at Vidya Niketan School, Bangalore
-As a Food Research Scientist at Pristine Organics Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore
It is said that “Teaching is a great way to keep learning.” In the last few years, I have felt the desire to put all my years of experience to use on a larger scale. In my 12-year journey as an educator, I have had the opportunity to work and interact with learners of varied age groups including professionals from diverse domains. It has helped me gather an understanding of simple and easy ways of learning a language, ways of making the learning process fun and engrossing, not just for all you language enthusiast out there, but for anyone who is willing to give it a try. This has led me to bring to you the lessons of Shikshann and I sincerely hope that these lessons can ignite your linguistic enthusiasm and bring out the polyglot in you. Happy Learning!!
